Joseph James "Chip" Scull, III, died unexpectedly on Sunday, the 22nd of February, 2015 at the age of 60. He resided in the Villas at Woldenberg in New Orleans, Louisiana.
Chip was born August 9, 1954 in Lubbock, Texas. He was the only child of Joseph James Scull, II and Mary Beth Foshee Scull. Chip is survived by his mother and extended family who loved him dearly.
Chip was a resident of Lubbock, Texas for 58 years. He was fortunate enough to travel and experience the world alongside his mother and many close friends and extended family. Having wanted to live in New Orleans for many years, he was lovingly brought to live there by his cousin, Dick Piner in 2012.
Chip was an active and serving believer of Jesus Christ. He was an Usher and a Deacon while attending First Presbyterian Church of Lubbock, Texas; and joyfully participated in the worship and the fellowship at Woodland Presbyterian Church, New Orleans.
Over his life, Chip enjoyed alpine skiing, shopping, gardening, travel, destination t-shirts, and "WT with friends. However, his truest loves were, Jesus, his mother, his BFF Darcell Benson, the Piner family, his long-haired dachshunds, and Aretha Franklin. He was a tenderhearted, loyal friend who could remember how you liked your coffee and what ornament would look best in your yard. He always found a reason to dance and will be greatly missed by all who were lucky enough to be loved by him.
Memorial service will be held in New Orleans on Sunday March 1st 3:00PM at Woodland Presbyterian Church 5824 Berkley Dr. New Orleans, La.
Burial will be at Resthaven Cemetary In Lubbock, Tx. A Chapel service will be held on Monday March 2nd at Resthaven Funeral home at 1:00PM with visitation before the service.
