Joseph "Joey" Parta, Jr.

Joseph “Joey” Parta, Jr. entered into eternal rest on Thursday, January 9, 2014 at the age of 61. Devoted and loving husband to Myra Landry Parta for 43 years. Loving father of April Parta Ragas and Jessica Parta Bordelon (Husband Aaron). Proud Grandfather of Joelle Marie Parta, Joey Paul Ragas, Jade Faith Ragas, Emma Rose Bordelon and Alex Barbara Bordelon. Great Grandfather of Averi Klaire Parta-Brock. Son of the late Joseph Parta, Sr. and Alice Guidroz Breaux. Son-in-law to Prophet Landry and Emma Loup Goodin. Brother of Sandra Abel, James Parta, Wayne Parta, Rick Parta, Dianna Plaisance, Steven Parta, Alice Torello, Robert Parta and Lisa Toups. He is also survived by numerous sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law and nieces and nephews. Joey enjoyed spending time with his family, cooking and fishing. He was a dedicated employee at Oriental Merchandise Company for 41 years and Loop Linen Services for 3 years. A visitation will be held at MOTHE FUNERAL HOME, 7040 Lapalco Blvd., Marrero, LA on Monday, January 13, 2014 from 6PM until 11PM. Visitation will resume at the funeral home on Tuesday, January 14, 2014 from 8AM until 1PM. A Funeral Mass will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday at 1PM. Interment will be in the Gate of Heaven Mausoleum (Our Lady of Prompt Succor Cemetery), Westwego, LA.
