Joy Dufrene Barras

Joy Dufrene Barras passed away July 17, 2016. Beloved wife of the late Wayne A. Barras, Sr. Mother of Wayne "Buddy" A. Barras, Jr. (fiance' Kaitlyn). Mere Mere of Wayne A. Barras, III. Daughter of the late Adles P. Dufrene and Yvonne Boudreaux Dufrene. Sister of Jeanette D. Tauzin and the late Ruth D. Perrin, Malcolm Dufrene, Douglas Dufrene, and Claude Dufrene. Age 61 years and lifelong resident of Marrero, LA. Joy was a loving mother, grandmother, mother in law and wife . She was an amazing, giving woman with a heart of gold. She loved her family unconditionally and would bend over backwards for anyone that needed help. She was also considered " Mom " by tons of her sons friends and she was more then happy to be that to all of them. She loved them just like they were her own children. Her family meant the world to her and she was never happier than when her grandson was born. Not only did she love her family but she loved the American Legion, her dog Poncho and her favorite movie The Wizard of Oz. She did so much good for her family, veterans, her friends and just about anyone in need. Not only will she be missed by her family but her unbelievable willingness to help others will be missed by everyone. She gave without thought. She will always be loved, missed and never forgotten by her family, friends and anyone that had the privilege in being able to spend just a few minutes with her. God truly made an angel when he created Joy and now he finally called her back home. We love you, we miss you and you will always be in our hearts and prayers.
Relatives and Friends of the Family are invited to attend the Funeral Mass in the Chapel of Mothe Funeral Home, 7040 Lapalco Blvd., Marrero, LA on Wednesday, July 27, 2016 at 11 AM.
