Joycelyn Anthony Pellegrin

With great love, the family of Joycelyn Anthony Pellegrin announces her passing from this life into the arms of our Heavenly Father. Joycelyn was a native of New Orleans and a resident of Avondale, LA for over 40 years where she was a parishoner of St. Bonaventure Church. She was a graduate of Nicholls High School in 1958. Afterwards, she pursued a career at New Orleans City Hall. Joycelyn worked until she and Leland were to be blessed with children. After which, Joycelyn became a full time stay at home wife and mother. Joycelyn was also a past member of the New Orleans Fire Department's Ladies Auxillary.

Born on March 8, 1941, Joycelyn was the daughter of the late James and Hilda Anthony. She is survived by her loving husband of 51 years, Leland L. Pellegrin Jr. and their 2 children Leland L. Pellegrin III (husband of Leslie Henry Pellegrin) and Jamie Pellegrin Hauck (wife of Kenneth "Todd" Hauck). Joycelyn was also blessed with 5 grandchildren, Ashley Pellegrin, Angelle' Pellegrin, Joshua Pellegrin, Joyelyn Pellegrin Waymire (wife of Justin Waymire) & Cami Pecoraro, 2 step-grandchildren, Christopher Hauck & Amanda Bealer Kline and 5 great grandchildren, "Lil" Rob III, Aubrie, Caleb, Alaina & Payton. Joycelyn is also survived by her half sister, Carmen Berard and her sister-in-law Mary Jane Pellegrin Little.

Joycelyn touched many lives with her love and compassion. She will be remembered as a loving wife and devoted mother and grandmother. She put others first and was truly a gift to everyone who was blessed to know her.

Joycelyn passed away peacefully on Tuesday, September 18th, 2012 at the age of 71.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral mass that will be held at Mothe's Funeral Home Chapel located at 7040 Lapalco Blvd. Marrero, LA on Friday, September 21st, 2012 at 3:00 p.m. Visitation will begin at 1:00 p.m. Joycelyn will be laid to rest in Our Lady of Prompt Succor Gates of Heaven Mausoleum at 600 Ave. A in Westwego, LA.
