Joycelyn Agatha Hurndon Ravain Bordelon Adams, age 85, peacefully transitioned to her heavenly home from the comfort of her own home on Saturday, November 2, 2013. Joycelyn entered the world, in New Orleans, as the only child of Henry George and Antoinette Nelly Henry Hurndon on January 20, 1928. She is survived by her daughter in law, Romona Alleman Ravain and her sister in law, Jesse Boudreaux. Joycelyn was preceded in death by her only son, Harold Rogers Ravain, Jr., her husbands Euges J. Adams; Lloyd Bordelon; and Harold Rogers Ravain, Sr. and her step-son Richard Adams.
Joycelyn graduated from McDonogh 35 High School in 1946, attending many of the reunions. Her working career included operating a family owned business and a time at the LSU Dental School.
She was a woman of many interests; she sailed, was an avid gardener, enjoyed traveling and was a remarkably gifted painter. She has left a large empty space in the lives of all who knew and loved her.
Special thanks to those who supported her and made her life so enjoyable Camille Germany, Sandra Caputti, and Ava Barosse. A heartfelt thank you to Hearts of Hospice for the care and comfort you delivered to her and her caregivers.
Cremation and niche ceremony at Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery’s Chapel of Faith Mausoleum, Gretna, La will be private in accordance with her wishes.
