Juan Ramon Ortiz

August 31, 1919 — April 8, 2013

Juan Ramon Ortiz, a lifelong resident of New Orleans, LA for 58 years after Hurricane Katrina, moved to Gretna, LA in January 2007 in and was born in Masaya, Nicaragua passed away on Monday, April 8, 2013 at the age of 93. He was the husband of the late Dora V. Ortiz. Father of Ramiro A. Ortiz (Wife, Cristina), Carmen O. Gomez, (Husband the late, Samuel Gomez), Jose’ M. Ortiz (Wife, Lillian) and Miguel A. Ortiz (Wife,Laurie). Step-father of Rene, Rigo, Pedro Valladares, Marta Liliana Casais and the late Virginia Marchetta. Son of the late Miguel Bolanos and Celina Abanza-Ortiz. Brother of Jose Martin Ortiz (Wife, Lolita), Alcala Bolanos (Wife, Yamilet) and the late Jose Simon Delgado, Ramiro Ortiz and Luisa Amanda Delgado. Also survived by 8 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren, several step grandchildren, step great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins. The family would like to extend a special thank you to his longtime dedicated friend, Olimpia J. Constanza as well as the staff at Jo Ellen Smith Convalescent Center and Heart of Hospice for their professional care and loving compassion of our parents, Juan and Dora Ortiz. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the visitation at MOTHE FUNERAL HOME, 2100 Westbank Expressway, Harvey, LA on Saturday, April 13, 2013 from 9AM until 11AM. A Funeral Mass will be held at the funeral home on Saturday at 11AM. Interment will be in Providence Memorial Park Cemetery, Airline Highway, Metairie, LA.
