Rev. Juan Roberto Vizcaíno Ronquillo passed away peacefully in his home on Saturday, April 13, 2024, at the age of 91, surrounded by his wife, Ludmila; daughter, Roberta (Ryan); and grandchildren, Isaiah and Ezra. Rev. Vizcaino was preceded in death by his father and mother, German and Amanda Vizcaino, and brothers Guillermo Vizcaino, Jaime Vizcaino, and Dr. Augusto Vizcaino. He is survived by his beautiful wife of 35 years, Ludmila Vizcaino, who selflessly served and cared for Roberto since August 2021 when he became ill. He is also survived by his loving children and grandchildren: Roberta Ogborn (Ryan) and their children Isaiah and Ezra Ogborn; Johnny Vizcaino (Gladys) and their daughters Paulina, Veronica, and Viviana Vizcaino; Diana Quiroga (Raúl) and their children Ivan Pensó and Carolina Murphy; Carmen Zambrano (Holger) and their daughters Gabriela and Sarita Zambrano; Martha Proaño (Fernando) and their children Juan and Domenica Proaño. He also leaves behind three great-grandchildren: Said Pensó, Mathias Carvajal, and Martina Oleas. Roberto also cared for his stepchildren: Karl Veil, Vitaliy Shevchenko (Gabby), and Ingrid Veil, as well as many other nieces and nephews.  Roberto was born to German and Amanda Vizcaino on January 12, 1933, in Guayaquil, Ecuador. Rev. Vizcaino discovered his calling to ministry early in life, pursued theological studies, and was ordained as a pastor on November 2, 1969, embarking on a lifelong journey of spiritual leadership. Roberto engaged in mission work taking the Gospel of Christ to various locations including the Amazon Rainforest. Rev. Vizcaino's impact as a pastor was profound, touching the lives of many through his heartfelt sermons and caring presence. He served faithfully, ministering not only to his congregation but also working in local and Christian radio and television. Additionally, he authored numerous seminars, leveraging his wisdom and experience to educate and inspire others. His literary contributions were also significant, having written more than seven books about various topics related to Christianity and faith. Through these various avenues, Rev. Vizcaino's dedication and passion for serving others left an indelible mark on those who knew him.
Roberto dedicated 14 years of service to the Ecuadorian Air Force in a civilian capacity, contributing his skills and commitment to the organization. His tenure with the Air Force exemplified his dedication to public service and his country. In 1999, Roberto immigrated to the United States of America with his daughter Roberta, pursuing the American Dream. He continued his calling as a pastor, serving in various churches in New Jersey and New York. In 2017 Roberto and his wife Ludmila re-located to the New Orleans area to be closer to family.
A memorial service to celebrate Rev. Juan Roberto Vizcaino's life will be held on Sunday, April 28th, at 5:00 PM at West St. Charles Baptist Church, located at 13099 US-90, Boutte, LA. All who knew and loved Rev. Vizcaino are invited to attend and pay their respects. Rev. Juan Roberto Vizcaino will be remembered fondly for his profound faith, kind spirit, and selfless dedication to his family, congregants, and community. May his legacy of love and humble service continue to inspire us all.

Juan Roberto Vizcaíno Ronquillo falleció en paz en su hogar el sábado 13 de abril de 2024, a la edad de 91 años, rodeado por su esposa, Ludmila; su hija, Roberta (Ryan); y sus nietos, Isaiah y Ezra. El Rev. Vizcaíno fue precedido en la muerte por su padre y su madre, Germán y Amanda Vizcaíno, y sus hermanos Guillermo Vizcaíno, Jaime Vizcaíno y el Dr. Augusto Vizcaíno. Le sobrevive su hermosa esposa de 35 años, Ludmila Vizcaíno, quien sirvió y cuidó sacrificadamente a Roberto desde agosto de 2021 cuando se enfermó. Roberto nació de Germán y Amanda Vizcaíno el 12 de enero de 1933, en Guayaquil, Ecuador. El Rev. Vizcaíno descubrió su llamado al ministerio temprano en la vida, estudió teología y fue ordenado pastor el 2 de noviembre de 1969, embarcándose en un viaje de liderazgo espiritual de por vida. Roberto se dedicó a la obra misionera llevando el Evangelio de Cristo a varios lugares, incluyendo la selva amazónica. El impacto del Rev. Vizcaíno como pastor fue profundo, tocando las vidas de muchos a través de sus sermones sinceros y su presencia cariñosa. Sirvió fielmente, ministrando no solo a su congregación, sino también trabajando en radio y televisión cristianas y locales. Roberto dedicó 14 años de servicio a la Fuerza Aérea Ecuatoriana en una capacidad civil, contribuyendo con sus habilidades y compromiso a la organización. Su tiempo en la Fuerza Aérea ejemplificó su dedicación al servicio público y a su país. En 1999, Roberto inmigró a los Estados Unidos de América con su hija Roberta, persiguiendo el Sueño Americano. Continuó con su llamado como pastor, sirviendo en varias iglesias en Nueva Jersey y Nueva York. En 2017, Roberto y su esposa Ludmila se mudaron al área de Nueva Orleans para estar más cerca de la familia.
Un servicio conmemorativo para celebrar la vida del Rev. Juan Roberto Vizcaíno se llevará a cabo el domingo 28 de abril a las 5:00 p.m. en la Iglesia Bautista West St. Charles, ubicada en 13099 US-90, Boutte, LA. Todos los que conocieron y amaron al Rev.
