Juanita Locker Ivie

Juanita Locker Ivie entered into eternal rest on Sunday, August 12, 2012 at the age of 84. Beloved and loving wife of the late Audra Ivie. Daughter of the late Anna French Locker and US Ambassador, Jessie D. Locker. Mother of Keith Ivie of Harvey, LA; Melanie Ivie Bechel (Husband James) of Harvey, LA and Mark Ivie (Wife Victoria) from Corona, CA. Grandmother of Richard “Alex” Becnel of Hammond, LA; Matthew Becnel of Harvey, LA; Carissa Ivie, Gabrielle Ivie and Angelle Ivie of Corona, CA. Sister of Bunny Leslee of Harrisburg, PA and the late Mary Hines and Vivian Hall. Juanita is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. She was born in Cincinnati, OH in 1928 and was a resident of Harvey, LA. Juanita was a Deaconal Minister of the United Methodist Church. She retired from the Board of Global Ministries Office of Stewardship. She was a member of United Methodist Women and was a member of Munholland United Methodist Church. The family would like to give thanks to the Physicians and Staff of Drs. Robert Kessler, William Barron, Emery Minnard, Mark Juneau and Heart Clinic of Louisiana. Special thanks also to St. Margaret’s Home Health and Hospice and the Women of Christians Salon and Day Spa. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the memorial visitation at MOTHE FUNERAL HOME, 2100 Westbank Expressway, Harvey, LA on Friday, August 17, 2012 from 11AM until 12PM. A Memorial Service will be held in the Chapel on Friday at 12 Noon with Chaplain Debra Guidroz officiating. A private interment will be held at a later date.
