Juanita Calzada Massey

Juanita Calzada Massey died peacefully on July 31, 2014 in the presence of her loving family at the age of 91. She was born in Harvey, LA and was a lifelong resident of Harvey, LA. Beloved wife of Joel Ernest Massey for 71 years. Daughter of the late Leanora Enos Calzada and John Edward Calzada. Sister of the late Eloise L. Calzada, Margaret C. Wilson and Leanora C. Diodene. Mother of Joel Edward Massey (Diette) and Janet M. Ditta (George). Grandmother of Nicole M. Brown (Brad), Jennifer M. Weber, George J. Ditta, II (Carmen), Gregory M. Ditta (Tammy) and Lisa D. Schexnayder (Brad). Also survived by 14 great grandchildren. Juanita was retired from the Jefferson Parish School Board where she was employed as a secretary at Homedale Elementary School for 30 plus years.
Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Funeral Mass in the chapel of MOTHE FUNERAL HOME, 2100 Westbank Expy., Harvey, LA on Tuesday, August 5, 2014 at 1:30 PM. Interment, Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery, Gretna, LA. Parlors will be open Tuesday from 11:30 AM until 1:30 PM. The family would like to thank her devoted and loving caregivers Darlene Barraco and Darlene Windmon.
