Jules C. Sancho, Jr, born in New Orleans, LA on November 18, 1935, and entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, March 25, 2025, at the age of 89.

Jules "Jay" is the beloved husband of 68 years to Nelda Cecilia Deckelmann Sancho, the mother of his five children. He is the son of the late Jules C. Sancho, Sr. and the late Neris Dufilho Sancho, and brother to the late Marc Sancho. Loving father of Donna S. Bentel (Joey), Michael Sancho (Charmel), David Sancho, Steven Sancho (Anna) and Ronald Sancho (Cheryl). Loving grandfather to thirteen grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren.

Jay was a member of St. Bonaventure Catholic Church for over 62 years. He retired, after 41 years, from the Louisiana Air National Guard, Belle Chasse, LA, as an Avionics Shop Maintenance Supervisor with the 159th Bayou Militia as a Senior Master Sargent. He was awarded the longest serving member of the Louisiana Air National Guard, after joining the Air Corps at the age of 17. He was also awarded a special Minute Man Award for his long serving duties.

Jay taught Electronics at a Vocational Technical College, where he shared his vast knowledge of electronics and love for mathematics. Another great interest of his was the love of running, which he was a member of the New Orleans Track Club and a marathoner.

He shared this interest as a Track/Field Coach at Avondale Playground, where he enjoyed coaching athletics. Jay was a lifelong fan of the New Orleans Saints and LSU Football. In his spare time and especially after retirement, he enjoyed taking his family camping and fishing. He always enjoyed traveling and sightseeing, particularly forests and natural landscapes. His greatest interests were teaching science and math, and he always enjoyed learning and sharing his knowledge with others. Jay would say that his greatest accomplishments were his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, whom he loved and brought to him great joy.

Relatives and Friends of the Family are invited to attend the Visitation at Our Lady of Prompt Succor Catholic Church, Westwego, LA on Tuesday, April 1, 2025 from 9:30 AM until Funeral Mass time at 11 AM. Interment will be Wednesday, April 2, 2025 at Southeast Louisiana Veterans Cemetery, Slidell, LA at 10 AM with US Airforce Funeral Honors. Mothe Funeral Homes handled arrangements.
