Julia Fischtziur Guey

Julia Fischtziur Guey passed away on March 25, 2014 surrounded by her loving children. She was 83 years. Beloved wife of 50 years to the late Stuart J. Guey, Sr. Mother of Patty A. Guey, Dr. Stuart J. Guey, Jr. (wife Valerie), Charles S. Guey (wife Sadie) and Dwight J. Guey. Sister of Anthony A. “Tick” Fischtziur, Elma F. “Dee Dee” Phillips, the late Katie Carevich, Johnny, Pete and Joe Fischtziur. Grandmother of Deandra, Beth, Louis, Leah, Trey and Emilyn. Great-grandmother of Anthony, Abigail, Ryan, Austin, Chase, Noah and Landon. Daughter of the late Helen Chiorco Fischtziur, a native of Perasto, Yugoslavia and Stephen J. Fischtziur, a native of Boka Kotorska, Yugoslavia. Also survived by many step grandchildren, step great-grandchildren, step great-great-grandchildren and many other loving relatives and friends.
Julia was a native of Empire, LA and most recently resided in Harvey, LA. She retired as Purchasing Manager with Daybrook Fisheries and enjoyed her visits to Boomtown Casino. The family would like to extend their gratitude to the staff of Serenity Hospice for their care and compassion.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the visitation at MOTHE FUNERAL HOME, 2100 Westbank Expy., Harvey, LA on Friday, March 28, 2014 from 9 AM to 1:30 PM. A Funeral Mass will follow.
