Julie Verret Ott

Julie Verret Ott, 64, of Harvey, passed away peacefully on Saturday, February 15, 2025, at Ochsner Medical Center (Main Campus), surrounded by her family. 

Julie was born on January 2, 1961, in New Orleans, Louisiana, to Gueydan and Marjorie Verret. She was a devoted wife, loving mother, cherished grandmother, and a beloved sister and friend.

 Julie is survived by her loving husband of forty-three years, Mark Ott; her father, Gueydan; her children, Samantha Vogel (Ryan) and Ian Ott (Tiffany); her siblings, Gueydan Jr., Christel, Clay, and Raymond; and her adored grandchildren, Ella, Alyssa, Jenna, Jake, Joshua, and Grayson. Also survived by many beloved in-laws, nieces, nephews, and their children. She was preceded in death by her mother, Marjorie Verret, and her brother, Ian Patrick Verret.

 Julie was a dedicated mother who cherished every moment spent with her children and grandchildren. She had a passion for cooking, sewing, and capturing precious family memories through her photography. For thirteen years, she worked as an Information Systems Coordinator at Marine Forces Reserve under the guidance of her supportive boss, Tracy.

Julie will be remembered for her unwavering patience and fortitude in the face of life’s challenges, her countless acts of kindness, and her ability to bring families together with her boundless love and compassion. Her legacy of warmth, generosity, and devotion will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.

 A memorial service to celebrate Julie’s life will be held on Tuesday, February 25th, at St. Cletus Church in Gretna, family-only from 10:00-10:30am, open to the public from 10:30-11:00am, followed by mass. In lieu of flowers, the family requests attendees to make cherished memories with loved ones, as tomorrow is never promised.
