Julius James Lips, Sr., "Whitey" passed away Tuesday, July 12, 2016. Beloved husband of the late Roberta Schroder Lips. Father of Linda Lips Snay (Bill) and Julius James Lips, Jr. (Lisa). Grandfather of Dawn Lips Smith (Barry), Ashley Snay Coleman (Nick), Katie Lips Ulmer (Milton), Julius James Lips, III (Miki) and Elizabeth Snay. Great-grandfather of seven and great-great-grandfather of three. Son of the late Jacob Julius Lips and Albertine Recknagel Sager. Stepson of the late Michael Sager. Brother of Audrey Solito, Anna Scelcio, Nathalie Deerman, Norma Treigle, and the late Leon Charles Lips, Sr., Albert Henry Lips, Claude John Lips. Also survived by numerous nieces an nephews. Age 87 years, a native of New Orleans, and resident of Gretna, LA. Member of Glaizer's Local 936, and Terrytown Golden Agers.
