June Puchot Carter

June Marie Puchot Carter passed away peacefully in her home, on November 9th, at the age of 91 years. She proudly served as a Marine Corps wife for 59 years to the late, Gerald "Sarge" Carter Sr. The beloved mother of Gerald "Jed" Carter Jr. (Tammy), Jan Mackie (the late, Jerry), Robert "Bobby" Carter (Noelle), Michelle "Shelly" Kercho and the late Michael Charles Carter. Grandmother of Jerry, Jessica, Chad, Nicholas, Jared, Taylor, Leigh-Ann, Christina, Sarah, Caroline, Madeleine and Michael. Great-grandmother of Skyler, Chance, Hayden, Brenna, Jackson, Olivia, Addisyn, Mason, Harvey, Luca, Catherine, Bennett, Evan, Freya and Roman. Daughter of the late Felix and Bernadine Puchot, and sister to the late Elaine Rusich and Robert Puchot. Also survived by many other loving relatives and friends. June attended Sacred Heart Academy and later became a secretary for New Orleans Parish Schools where she retired in 1983. For many years, she was an avid golfer traveling throughout the south with various country clubs and golf organizations. She was a member of Christ the King Catholic Church in Terrytown, and in recent years, Our Lady of the Lourdes Catholic Church in Slidell. Later in life, June loved Carribbean Cuises, vacationing with family, attending musical theatre, playing pokeno with her friends and trying her luck at the Gulf Coast casinos. By far, her greatest joy in life was spending time with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.  She loved to spoil them all! She will be sadly missed and live in our hearts for eternity.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the services on Saturday, November 18th, 2023 at MOTHE FUNERAL HOME in Harvery, La at 12:00pm.  A Catholic mass will begin at 1:30pm, followed by interment at Westlawn Memorial Park on Whitney Avenue.
