Karen O'Connor Hunter

Karen O’Connor Hunter, age 65, died surrounded by her loving family Wednesday, March 19, 2025. She was born in New Orleans to Ronald “Buck” O’Connor and Barbara Ann (Ferris) O’Connor; both preceded her in death. She is also preceded in death by her precious son, Jason O’Connor and brother, Darren O’Connor. She is survived by her loving husband of 44 years, Lee Hunter, her son, Timothy O’Connor (daughter-in-law, Stacy Teal), daughter, Tracy Hunter-Lee (son-in-law, Chris Lee), and her grand babies: Timothy O’Connor, Jr., Freddie McMillan, Destiny O’Connor, and Jalynn Leonard. She is also survived by her siblings: Colleen York (Cary), Nina Brossette (Mark), and Tommy O’Connor and her bonus siblings: Barbara Hoffmann (Herman), Herman Hunter (Karen), and Rebecca “Becky” Palermo. Karen was an incredible mother, grandmother, aunt, and person whose love was felt by all, including all of her nieces, nephews, family, and friends, but especially by all the children she helped to raise since she was 12. Her love was boundless and always genuine.

The family are extremely grateful for everyone who provided support over the last two months, including her treatment team at LCMC University and West Jeff. Without your sacrifice and kindness, our family would have been lost. Family and friends are invited to attend the Visitation at MOTHE FUNERAL HOME, 7040 Lapalco Blvd., Marrero, Louisiana on Sunday, March 23, 2025 from 6PM until 11PM. Visitation will resume at the funeral home on Monday, March 24, 2025 from 8:30AM until 10:30AM. A Graveside Service will be held at Restlawn Park Cemetery, Highway 90, Avondale, Louisiana on Monday at 11AM.
