Karen Simoneaux Pitre passed away on January 24, 2014 at the age of 66 years. Beloved wife of the late Aaron M. Pitre. Mother of Derin P. Pitre and Chantelle P. Floyd. Mother-in-law of Dana D. Pitre and Jeremy D. Floyd. Grandmother of Kayla M. Floyd and Lindsey E. Floyd. Daughter of Jackie Naquin Simoneaux and the late Norman Simoneaux, Sr. Daughter-in-law of Lurline H. Pitre and the late Mark M. Pitre. Sister of Betty Ann LeBlanc (husband, Perry), Don Simoneaux (wife, Debbie) and the late Norman Simoneaux, Jr. Sister-in-law of Gail Simoneaux, Sheila P. Hill (husband, Mike), Nathan F. Pitre (wife, Tam) and Lowell J. Pitre (wife, Sheri). Also survived by 10 nieces and nephews and 20 great-nieces and great-nephews. Karen was a substitute school teacher who began her career with Our Lady of Prompt Succor School in Westwego. She later worked for Jefferson Parish Public Schools and spent much of her time at C.T. Janet, Lafitte and Vic A. Pitre Elementary Schools. She was a member of Beta Sigma Phi Sorority and was the assistant moderator of Archbishop Shaw High School Pep Squad for many years. Relatives, friends and employees of Jefferson Parish Public Schools, Jefferson Parish Clerk of Court, ABB, Inc. and Chevron Chemical Co. (Oak Point) are invited to attend the Funeral Mass in the Chapel of MOTHE FUNERAL HOME, 7040 Lapalco Blvd., Marrero, LA on Wednesday, January 29, 2014 at 1 PM. Interment Gate of Heaven Mausoleum.
