Karen Barrios Weaver

September 8, 1954 — October 16, 2022

God called home one of his angels, Karen Barrios Weaver, on Sunday 16 October 2022. Words overflow like a fountain for our Karen, wife, mother, grandmother-“Great” and friend who lived a beautifully poetic life from start to end. Karen shared an amazing legacy with “her Mike” reaching the rare height of 50 years of love, laughter and tears. She was 68 years young. Karen is survived by her husband Mike Weaver, son, Wade Weaver and his wife Rhonda, and daughter, Charlotte Gale and her husband Oscar, her beloved grandchildren Alexia, Jacob, Savannah, Isa, Gabriel and Zoie, and her brothers and sisters Annette (William Terry) Anderson, Janalyn (Allen) LeBlanc, Lois Thibodaux, Andre Barrios, Susan (Arthur) Majorie, Jane Barrios, Fay (Kevin) Adams, Ellen B. Poyadou, Ted (Denise) Barrios, and Patrick Barrios. Karen was born September 8th 1954 to Duffy J. and Lucille Arceneaux Barrios in Marrero, LA., and lived life to the fullest on the West Bank of New Orleans with short stops around Fort Gordon, Georgia, and Fort Hood Texas with Mike and Wade. Karen had a unique way of bringing people together whether it be her cooking large meals during the holidays, backyard barbeques, or sharing her positive outlook on life at just the right moment. She only spoke kind words of others, and everyone who knew her instantly loved her. She enjoyed her puppies, family, the outdoors, yelling at football games, work and life itself. She accepted others into her home with open arms. Karen will be desperately missed by all those that she’s left behind. Our hearts are so broken by this loss. She was one of a kind and to be loved by her was to be truly blessed. Services will be privately held at a later date.
