Katherine Mary Tragelis Lambousy passed away at her home on January 12, 2016 at the age of 78 years. She was born in Port Arthur, TX. Daughter of the late Pete D. Tragelis and Marianthi Y. Tragelis. She is survived by her husband of 51 years, Pete G. Lambousy; two sons, Gregory P. Lambousy and Peter D. Lambousy (Alison) and five grandsons: Gregory, Patrick, Tristan, Peter and Matthew Lambousy. She is also survived by her sister, Mercina H. Tragelis. Katherine attended Lamar University in Beaumont, TX and was later employed as Personnel Director at St. Mary’s Hospital in Port Arthur. Her family was the joy and love of her life. Her sons and grandsons were of particular pleasure. Katherine was especially proud of her Greek heritage and for a short time, used her knowledge of the language to translate for the Federal Courts in New Orleans. But, she was also a business woman, managing the Video Store, Inc. along with her husband as pioneers of the beginning of the video era in the New Orleans area. The Lambousy family thanks the staff of Hospice Compassus for the excellent home care they provided.
Family and friends are invited to attend the visitation at MOTHE FUNERAL HOME, 2100 Westbank Expy., Harvey, LA on Monday, January 18, 2016 from 9 AM to 11 AM. A Prayer Service will follow in the funeral home chapel. Interment Westlawn Memorial Park.
