Katherine “Kappy” LeBlanc McDaniel breathed her last breath after a very hard 3 year battle with breast cancer on Wednesday, December 5, 2012 at the age of 69 years old. She was strong in her faith and is breathing and sleeping peacefully with her Lord and Savior. Born on April 14, 1943, she was the first born and beloved daughter of the late Conchetta “Connie” and Charles LeBlanc. Katherine “Kappy” married the late James Leonard McDaniel and is survived by two sons whom she loved dearly, Kevin Paul Fremen (Mary Ann) of Maryland and James Alton McDaniel (Celia) of Michigan. She has four beautiful grandchildren, Zachary and Brittany Fremen and Kyan and Sophia Alcumbrack-McDaniel. She has two great-grandchildren, Avery and Alyssa Fremen. Katherine will be deeply missed by her brother Vincent, her sisters Charlotte Falgout (T-Van) and Angela Johns. She will be missed by her companion and best friend her dog “Sam.” Fondly known as Kap-Kap or Aunt Kappy she cherished her moments with her family, her nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews whom she loved so much and shared a special bond because we could all get together and just laugh. Her smile and her laugh will be missed; she was deeply loved by all who knew her.
