Houma

On Sunday, November 10, 2024, Kathleen Glennon Labit, 73, a resident of Houma, LA, passed away peacefully in her home. Born in Springfield, IL in 1951, she was adopted by the late Philip & Katherine Glennon. She was a 1973 graduate of Illinois State University with a degree in Art Education. She obtained a teaching position in a local high school in Charleston, SC, then met and married her husband, Roy C. Labit, Jr.  Being a Navy wife, moving from Charleston SC to Norfolk, VA and finally to Newport, RI, she worked in various fields, including being an Ombudsman for a ship’s wives club. Upon moving to Newport, RI, she worked at a photofinishing lab, which she eventually bought and it flourished. She expanded the business to include portrait photography, events and weddings. With her husband, it was further expanded to include video and photo restoration. In over 20 years, they provided services for over 1,000 weddings and numerous events and portraits. Retiring from that business in 2006, she and her husband relocated to Houma, LA, in 2008. She is survived by her husband of 44 years, two stepsons, Michael C. Labit and Timothy W. Labit, their wives, children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Relatives and Friends of the Family are invited to attend the Funeral Service in the Chapel of MOTHE FUNERAL HOME, 2100 Westbank Expy, Harvey, LA on Saturday, November 16, 2024 at 1:30 PM. Interment McDonoghville Cemetery, Gretna, LA. Visitation will be held from 12 PM until service time.
