Kathleen Mixon "Kathy" Schmit

Kathleen Mixon “Kathy” Schmit went home to be with her Lord and Savior on October 29, 2016 at the age of 55 years. Beloved wife of 36 years to Alvin “Al” Schmit Jr. Loving mother of Rachael Schmit (Brandi Alexander) and Julie Schmit (David A. Klegin). Sister of JoAnn Robert (Benjamin), Tammy Mixon (Kevin Maes) and the late Edwin Ray Mixon Jr. (Suzette). Sister-in-law of Denise Arabie (Gary), Cindy Cardon (Lee), Ginger Evans and Steffan Schmit (Hollie). Daughter of the late Edwin Ray Mixon Sr. and Nellie Williamson Mixon. Also survived by many other loving relatives and friends.
Kathy was the manager of Towne Bridge Place Apartments, worked with 1st Lake Properties for 29 years and was a member of the National Apartment Association. She was an active member of Grace Baptist Church.
Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the visitation at MOTHE FUNERAL HOMES, 2100 Westbank Expy., Harvey, LA on Wednesday, November 2, 2016 from 10 AM to 1:30 PM. Services will follow in the funeral home chapel, conducted by Pastor Shannon Foote. Interment Westlawn South Cemetery in Gretna.
