Kathy Ellis Diggs went home to be with the Lord on Friday, March 22, 2013 at the age of 57. A retired school teacher from Barbre and Truman Middle Schools with 30 years of service. Loving Mother of Erica Ellis, Ashley Ellis, Brandon Ellis (Nolita), and Joseph “Teedy” Diggs, Jr. Grandmother of Derrick Ellis, Imani Badie, Brandon Ellis, Jr., Darnell Ellis, Ahlai Badie and Aria Badie. Daughter of the Late Edward Ellis, Jr. and Flora Starks Ellis. Beloved Sister of Sylvia E. Simmons, Ava E. Dorsey, Tamie E. Lee, James Ellis, Sr. and the late Edward Ellis III and Martha E. Barnes. Also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. A native of New Orleans, LA and a resident of Marrero, LA. Relatives and friends of the family, also pastors, officers and members of Morning Star M.B. C., all neighboring churches and employees of the Jefferson Parish Public School System are invited to attend the funeral service. Services will be held at Morning Star M.B.C. 1000 Walkertown Way, Marrero, LA on Friday, March 29, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. Rev. Dr. T.J. Brown, Jr. officiating.
