Kenneth Joseph Bavaret, Sr.

Kenneth Joseph Bavaret Sr., beloved father, devoted husband, and respected veteran, passed away peacefully on January 31, 2025, at the age of 77. He was born on November 25, 1947, in Marrero, LA to Camille and Agatha "Margie" Rodrigue Bavaret.

 Kenneth is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Cheryl Dufren Bavaret; his sons Kenneth Bavaret Jr. (Sharon), Scott Bavaret, Derrick Bavaret (Tammy); grandchildren Jeffrey Boyd Jr. (Jennifer), Kayla Bavaret Sylve (Jeremy), Casey Bavaret; great-grandchildren Kobe, Khloe, Harper, Emmy, Kyler, Tayah; siblings Yvonne Bavaret Barthelemy (John), Gary Bavaret (Cynthia), Darryl Bavaret (Mary); and several nieces and nephews. His legacy lives on through his loving family and the many lives he touched.

 Kenneth proudly served his country as a Sergeant in the United States Army. As a member of the 9th Infantry Division, he bravely fought in the Vietnam War from 1967 to 1969. Following his honorable discharge, Kenneth resided in Westwego, LA, where he embarked on a career as a machinist at American Electric Power (AEP).

 For over four decades, he applied his expertise and hard work, contributing significantly to the company until his well-deserved retirement in 2010. His dedication to his country, his exceptional work ethic, and his unwavering love for his family will be fondly remembered by all who knew him.

 Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Funeral Mass in the chapel of Mothe Funeral Home, 7040 Lapalco Blvd., Marrero, LA 70072, on Friday, February 7th, 2025, at 11 a.m. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until 11 a.m. Interment will follow the Funeral Mass at Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery.
