Our beloved Kenneth Del Daschner passed away on March 25, 2015 at Ochsner Foundation Hospital. Kenneth was born on September 19, 1960 in Watseka, IL and resided in Folsom, LA. He is survived by the love of his life, his wife Jane; his mother, Roberta of Talladega, AL; siblings, Arla Albers (Howard) of Fairfax, VA, Dennis Daschner (Edna) of St. Anne, IL, Barbara Simpson (Jeremy) of Talladega, AL, Laurie Simmons (Curt) of Portage, MI and Lisa DeLeon of Birmingham, AL; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and his favorite sister-in-law, Karen Este (Randy).
He is preceded in death by his father, Delbert Daschner; grandmother, Alta Atkins and “Bull”, his favorite bulldog.
Ashkum, Martinton, Ottawa and Morris were several of the towns that the Daschner’s lived in Illinois before moving to New Orleans, LA in 1976. Ken graduated from O. Perry Walker High School in 1978 and later attended Holy Cross College. He was a true friend to so many people, keeping us smiling with his quick wit. He showed us how to live, embracing the precious gift of life. Ken loved music and his silver trumpet accompanied him to many trips to the Superdome, French Quarter and many Mardi Gras parades. He may be remembered by his high school friends as “Crazy Man”. He had a zest for life and good friends. He lived his life guided by his strong faith in God.
Kenneth worked as a service manager for Acura and Lexus dealerships and more recently, was an independent contractor traveling from Florida to the Texas border.
Golfing, fishing, boating and flying ultralite planes were his hobbies, but his passions were flying ultralites and fishing in the Gulf. He dearly loved his family dogs, Howie, Mojo, Lucy and Milo.
