Kenneth C. Pouwels Sr

Kenneth C. Pouwels Sr., a life-long resident of Marrero, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, September 3, 2024. Kenny was born on June 11, 1937 to the late Francis Pouwels Sr. and Julia Burbach Pouwels. Kenny was preceded in death by his brothers Robert Pouwels (the late Gertrude), Daniel Pouwels (the late Gertrude) and Francis Pouwels Jr., and survived by his sister-in-law, Diane. Kenny was married to Barbara Blanchard over 64 years and was father to Wendy Rodriguez (Santos), Kenneth Pouwels Jr. (Cindy), Gail Schloesser (Greg) and Lisa Naquin (Mike). He was the proud grandpa to Christen Rodriguez, Karie Rodriguez, Lindsay Miesel, Santos Rodriguez (deceased), Trey Naquin, Morgan Naquin and Shane Rodriguez, and great-grandpa to Brayden, Paxton, Eden, Rylie and Barrett. . 

Kenny graduated from Marrero High School in 1955. He followed in the footsteps of his father in the tile business, and later became a general contractor. He was a loving husband and father, known for his fun personality and sense of humor. He enjoyed cooking, wood-working, camping and being with his family. He was actively involved at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, serving in the choir. 

Friends and family are invited to the visitation and funeral service, which will be Saturday, September 14, 2024 from 9 AM to 11 AM, with Mass immediately following, at Mothe Funeral Home, 7040 Lapalco Boulevard in Marrero. Interment will follow at Westlawn Memorial Park and Cemetery.
