Kevin Scott Hammell went to be with the Lord on Tuesday October 4, 2016 after suffering complications from a heart attack. He was 50 years of age, was born and raised in Gretna, LA and was a long time resident of the Town of Jean Lafitte, LA. Kevin was preceeded in his death by his mother Judith Roehl Hammell and his sister Christine Hammell Boudreaux. He is survived by his loving wife Melanie Bladsacker Hammell of 32 years; his daughter Tosha (Brent) and his grandson Tyler Delaney and step grandson Brennan Danos.
Kevin is also lovingly remembered by his father William (Billy) Hammell; brothers Glen and Patrick (Lori); sister Peggy (Stephen); in-laws, Rev. and Mrs. Kenneth Bladsacker. He was a wonderful uncle to many nieces, nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews.
He worked as a heavy equipment operator and driver for many years. He loved his job and being able to work outdoors. His favorite hobby was spending time with his grandson, hunting, fishing and most of all cheering on his baseball teams the Rebels and Fisher Gators. Anyone who had the privilege of meeting him knew he was a caring and loving person. Also a special thanks to the Boudreaux and Danos families for their extended efforts in helping out during this difficult time.
