Kevin Bernard Lauricella, Sr. passed away Wednesday, June 22, 2016 after a courageous two year battle with cancer. Beloved father of Kevin Lauricella, Jr. (Christina). Grandfather "Pops" of his "Pretty Girl" Julia Lauricella. Son of the late Frank Lauricella and Louise Stenger Lauricella. Brother of Rosemary Uzee (Frank), Catherine LeBlanc (late Walter), and the late Francis Lauricella (late Elsie), Gloria Ortego (late George), Charles "Bubby" Lauricella (late Anna), Donald Lauricella, and Edward Lauricella (Liz). Also survived by his caretaker and former wife, Jean McCoy. Special thanks to Judy Guillot (C.J.), Ricky Ortego (Maria), and Eddie Lassiange. Also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, other relatives, and close friends.
Age 79 years, a native of Algiers, LA and resident of Terrytown, LA. Kevin graduated from St. Aloysius High School. He spent his career as an insides salesman in the oil field and retired from Daniel Industries in 2001. He was a proud founding member of the Lucky 13 Social Club where he passionately planned events and made lifelong friendships and memories. He loved the New Orleans Saints Football Team having been a season ticket holder and loyal fan since the birth of the franchise in 1967. Known as Mr. Mardi Gras to friends and family, he never missed a parade. He and his son were 13 year members of the Krewe of Endymion and looked forward to riding together every year. His vibrant personality and presence will be missed by all.
Relatives and Friends of the Family are invited to attend the Funeral Mass at Holy Name of Mary Catholic Church, 400 Verret St., Algiers, LA on Monday, June 27, 2016 at 12 Noon.
