Larry Franklin Krause passed away suddenly at his home on April 15, 2014 at the age of 71. He was born in Westwego on January 7, 1943 to the union of Ruby Ledet Krause and Johnathan Franklin Krause. He was a loving and devoted son, uncle, and friend. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends, and had a generous giving spirit. Larry lived and worked in New Orleans as a field auditor for an insurance company, and his work took him to the islands of Hawaii, where he also lived for many years. He returned to the city he loved upon his retirement, and immediately began work as a community volunteer. He had faith in God, a love for the church, and was a parishioner of Holy Guardian Angels. He also attended the First Baptist Church in Bridge City. He had a spirit of volunteerism and loved to serve others. He received many awards for his service to the church and the Bridge City Senior Center, including the St Louis Medallion and Holy Guardian Angels Man of the Year. He was active with the Men's Club and the Gumbo Festival. He was devoted to his family, and passionately helped his Mother raise his siblings. He will be dearly missed by his sisters Bonnie Ricks and Becky Lambert, and his nephews David Ricks, Alexander Rios, and Nicholas Rios. He is joyfully reunited with the loved ones that preceded him: his Mother and Father , Jonathan and Ruby Krause; cousins Gail Gremillion and Ouita Tassin. Relatives, and friends of the family, parishioners and members of the Holy Guardian Angels Church and Bridge City Baptist Church are invited to attend visitation services at Mothe Funeral Home, 7040 Lapalco Blvd in Marrero on Saturday April 19, 2014 from 9 a.m. To 1 p.m. Funeral services will begin at 1:30 p.m., with interment to follow at Westlawn Cemetary.
