Laura Guidry Bellanger, 100, passed away peacefully October 7, 2011 at home. She was the youngest of 14 children, born to Nelson Joseph and Eugenie Bourgeois Guidry of Raceland. She married Aubrey Bellanger in 1933 and they were blessed to have 76 wonderful years together. She was a longtime member of Immaculate Conception Church before moving to Knoxville, TN in 2005.
Laura was a beautiful lady who loved life and touched everyone she met. She was a selfless person who always thought of others before herself. Known for her good Cajun cooking, she was happiest when she was preparing a meal to share with her family.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Aubrey; thier sons, Aubrey, Jr. and Robert; her sisters, Emelie, Alice, Elouise, Agnes and Hermine; her brothers, Charles, Louis, Emile, Edward, Samson, Joseph, Nelson and Peter.
She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Marie and David Lousteau of Knoxville, TN, daughter-in-law, Joy Bellanger of Birmingham, AL; grandchildren, Darren Bellanger, Michael Bellanger, Ted Bellanger and wife, Charlene, Rebecca Lousteau Mannix and husband David, Elizabeth Lousteau Doherty and husband Gregory, John Lousteau and wife, Chasity, Matthew Lousteau and wife, Angela. 15 great grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild.
Relatives and Friends of the Family are invited to attend a funeral Mass in the Chapel of MOTHE FUNERAL HOME, 7040 Lapalco Blvd., Marrero, LA on Saturday, October 15, 2011 at 11 AM. Interment in Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery, Gretna, LA. Visitation will be Saturday morning from 9 AM until funeral time.
