Laura Alexie Bruce

Laura Alexie Bruce, born in New Orleans, LA on June 19, 1940, and entered eternal rest on February 13, 2025, at the age of 84 surrounded by family. Mrs. Bruce resided in Marrero, LA.

Laura was preceded in death by the late Felix Anthony Alexie Sr., her beloved husband of 53 years. She is survived by David Bruce Jr.,her husband of 12 years. She is the daughter of the late Aline and Steve Prestenback and sister to the late Raymond, Harold, and Steve Prestenbach, Gloria Barrios, and Joyce Nuccio. Loving mother of Felix A. Alexie Jr. (Cecelia), Joey D. Alexie Sr. (the late Anna), Michael J. Alexie, and Amy A. Termine (Tony). Loving grandmother of Amber Stein (Erich), January Matherne (Frank), the late Joey Alexie Jr., Jared Termine (Courtney), Jonathan Alexie, Amanda Singer, and Lauren Termine and the great grandmother to 10 great grandchildren. 

She was a member of Hosanna Church in Marrero for 15 years. She retired from Jefferson Parish School System where she was a cafeteria worker. 

Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the funeral services at Mothe Funeral Home, 7040 Lapalco Blvd, Marrero, LA. Visitation will be held from 9:00 am to 11:00 am, and the funeral service will begin at 11:00 am. Interment to follow at St. Pius X, Crown Point, LA.  

The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to her caregiver Cindar “Cee” Anderson, Concerned Care Hospice and Notre Dame Hospice for their care and support the last 6 months.
