Laverne Inguagiato Russo

LaVerne Inguagiato Russo passed away on June 23, 2013 at the age of 79 years. Beloved wife of 61 years to Leonard J. Russo. Mother of David Russo (Becky), Christine Russo Lorensen (Rick) and Stephen Russo. Grandmother of Heather, Logan, Russ, Nicholas, Molly, Suzanne, Kate, Dylan and Adam. Great-grandmother of Justin, Kayla, Carly and Graham. Sister of the late Melvin Inguagiato. Special sister to the late Cynthia Vegas. Daughter of the late Christopher and Alma Rawle Inguagiato.
LaVerne was an accomplished high school athlete at Gretna High School and was particularly proficient in bowling. She was a Pro Am bowler and frequented Expressway and Westside Lanes. She was a substitute teacher with Jefferson Parish Schools and spent much of her time serving the students at John Ehret High, Higgins High and Gretna Middle School. She was a member of the Breakfast Club, Belle Chasse AARP Chapter 4034 and a longtime parishioner of St. Joseph Church in Gretna.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the visitation at MOTHE FUNERAL HOME, 2100 Westbank Expy., Harvey, LA on Thursday, June 27, 2013 from 9 AM to 11 AM.
