Lawrence J. Kass, Sr. entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, October 12, 2011 at the age of 87. Beloved husband of 67 years to Barbara Herzog Kass. Son of the late John Wendel Kass and Jeanette Gaudet Kass. Father of Lawrence Kass, Jr. (Wife Vanessa), Kerry Kass, Gregory Kass (Wife Mary), Patrick Kass, Sharon Landeche (Husband, the late Norman), Lauren McGinnis (Husband Thomas “Skippy”), Nancy Kass and Marian Pieno (Husband Larry). Grandfather of Norman and Kevin Landeche, Amy Licciardi, Elizabeth Mavromatis, Jennifer McGinnis, Melissa Surrency-Riddick, Jason and Erica Surrency, Jason and Jamie Kass, Marc and Troy Pieno, Christine Weill, Kerry Kass, Jr., Janice Chaisson, David and Amber Kass, Rachel, Gregory and Kristen Kass, Patrick and Max Kass and the late William Taulli, Jr. Survived by 30 great grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews. Brother of Cecelia Wattigney (Husband, the late Beauregard) and the late Joseph M. Kass (Survived by wife Josephine) and Lucille Navarre (Survived by husband, Walter). Lawrence was Past Commander of the American Legion Post 64 and he retired from Union Pacific Railroad. He Served as First Class Petty Officer Seaman for 3 years while serving in the United States Navy. Lawrence was a lifelong resident of McDonoughville, LA (Gretna, LA).
