Lawrence Michael Moran Sr.

Lawrence "Larry" Michael Moran, Sr. passed away on Tuesday, May 21, 2013 at the age of 86. A lifelong resident of the metro New Orleans area. Devoted husband of Mary "Mickie" Louise Stonicher Moran. Loving father of Lynnette Moran Sziber (John) of Ponchatoula, LA and Laurie Moran Gaudin (Rande) of Jesuit Bend, LA and his young son, the late Lawrence Michael "Mike" Moran, Jr. Grandfather of Kitty Saxon Gibson of Ponchatoula, Megan Saxon Ard of Loranger, LA, April Saxon of Yosemite, CA, Melanie and Rande Gaudin, Jr. of Jesuit Bend, LA. Great grandfather (Poppie) of Abbie, Noah, Cayte and Chase Gibson; Desi and Cadance Ard. Larry was a veteran of the United States Navy, and retired in 1988 after 46 years of service to the Times Picayune. He loved to sing Barbershop songs and was a member of the Mardi Gras Chorus for nearly 50 years. Over his lifetime, he was dedicated to the Easter Seal Society and a member of the Louisiana Lions Organization. Visitation will be on Friday, May 24th at Mothe Funeral Home, 2100 Westbank Expressway, Harvey, LA at 10:00 A.M. followed by services at 1:00 P.M.
