Lawrence Patrick Murphy

Lawrence Patrick Murphy entered into eternal rest on September 7, 2024. Beloved father of Ashley Murphy and stepfather of Jonathan McKeough, Sr. (Shannan). Step Grandfather “Pops” of Jonathan McKeough, Jr. and Isabella McKeough. Son of the late Orlando Murphy Sr. and Pearl Laurence Murphy. Brother to Orlando “Steve” Murphy, Jr. (Kathleen) and Timothy Murphy (Lisa). Also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Age 75 years, resident of Gretna and Kenner, LA. Special thanks to the staff of Woldenberg Azaleas, St. Joseph’s Nursing Home, and St. Catherine’s Hospice for providing wonderful care throughout the years. Larry was a devoted father, enthusiastic golfer and bowler, and passionate supporter of LSU, the Saints, and the Pelicans. He was always life of the party everywhere he went, lovingly known as the "Funcle," and will deeply be missed by all. 

Relatives and Friends of the Family are invited to attend the Funeral Mass at St. Anthony Catholic Church, Gretna, LA on Friday, Sept. 13, 2024 at 12 PM. Interment Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery, Gretna, LA. Visitation will be held at church from 10 AM until mass time. Mothe Funeral Homes handled arrangements.
