Leah Iemmola Paternostro

Leah Iemmola Paternostro, a devout Catholic, entered into eternal life on October 6, 2015. Beloved wife of 50 years to the late Sam J. Paternostro. Survived by her loving children and spouses, Catherine and Bill Serex, Mary and J.F. Thompson, Michael and Pearl Paternostro and Judy and Vincent Baldassaro. Beloved Granny of Michael, Jr., Stephanie, Anthony, Dominick, Joshua Paternostro, Elizabeth, Ben, Alexandra and Amelia Evans, Jennifer, Jonathan, Madeleine, Jack and Luke Perret, Leslie and Jeremy Chenier, John Thompson and Parrish Baldassaro, Jr. and Kaitlyn Doucet. Also survived by her sister Bea Lopinto. Preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Josephine Caluda Iemmola; her grandson, Christopher Paternostro and siblings, Rose Martin, Mary Richards, Anna Mire and Nick Iemmola. She was a Parishioner of Immaculate Conception Church of Marrero, serving many ministries especially the Ladies Alter Society and also recipient of the St. Louis Medallion Award. Also a member of the Italian American Society of Jefferson. The family gives a special thanks to Notre Dame Hospice, especially Chrishana, her nurse, and her loving caretakers, Vannessa Bender, Rose Fazende, Peaches, and Carolyn Johnson. In lieu of flowers, donations to St. Vincent de Paul Society of Immaculate Conception Parish in Marrero or Masses preferred. A Visitation will be held at MOTHE FUNERAL HOME, 2100 Westbank Expressway, Harvey, LA on Friday, October 9, 2015 from 6PM until 10PM. Visitation will resume on Saturday, October 10, 2015 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 7th Street, Marrero, LA from 9AM until 11AM. A Funeral Mass will be held at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church on Saturday at 11AM. Interment will be in Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery, Gretna, LA.
