Lenias "LJ" Joseph Marie, Jr., 72 years old, of Avondale, Louisiana passed away on August 29, 2020. He will be greatly missed by his wife, Elizabeth Adams Marie, and his children Kellie Ann Marie Casanova, Lenias "Len" Joseph Marie, III, and grandchildren, Brennan Casanova, Morgan Marie, and Mason Marie, as well as his faithful canine companion, "Parker". L.J. was born in New Orleans, Louisiana to Elma Morris Marie, and Lenias Joseph Marie, Sr., with siblings, Patricia Anne Rogers, (Ivy E. Rogers), Sylvia R. Marie, and Lynda Marroy Orgeron. He was "uncle", "parran", and "pappy" to a host of nieces and nephews, and their children. L.J. was a retired Jefferson Parish Schools bus driver and worked as a barber inn Westwego. He served our country honorably in the 51st Medical Company of the Army from 1967-1969. He was a former commander of American Legion Post 206, and a member of the YMBC in Westwego. L.J. was a proliferate storyteller and a prankster, and he really liked to smile, but didn't want to do it alone. He enjoyed hunting and woodworking and his absence from Hidden Oaks Campground will be felt by many. Friends and family are invited to attend services at Cornerstone Christian Center, 6550 Lapalco Blvd., in Marrero at 7 P.M. on Tuesday, September 1, 2020. Visitation will begin at 5 P.M. until 8.PM.
