Leo J. Leblanc

February 15, 1923 — July 5, 2016

Leo J. LeBlanc passed away on Tuesday, July 5, 2016 at the age of 93 years. Beloved husband of Mercy Vedros LeBlanc for 59 years. Son of the late Agnes and Lawrence LeBlanc. Brother of the late Lawrence J., Elsie, Jules, George, Russel, Irma and Gerald LeBlanc. Beloved friend of Allison and Barry Griffen and Danny Lirette. Also survived by a host of nieces and nephews. Leo proudly served his country during World War II in the United States Navy in the Asiatic Pacific American Theatre. He was retired Chief of Marrero-Harvey Volunteer Fire Company No. 1 having served actively for 55 years. He was a lifelong resident of the Westbank. Relatives and friends of the family, also members and operators of Marrero-Harvey Volunteer Fire Company No. 1, Westwego Volunteer Fire Company No. 1, Harvey Volunteer Fire Company No. 2, all Jefferson Parish and surrounding area fire departments, Jefferson Parish Fireman's Assoc., Westbank Presidents and Chiefs Assoc., Louisiana State Fireman's Assoc., International Fire Chiefs Assoc., Southwest Fire Chiefs Assoc., Louisiana's Chiefs Assoc., Jefferson Parish Instructor Assoc., IBEW 130, The Jefferson Indians, and Jefferson Parish Sheriff's Office are invited to attend the Funeral Mass on Saturday, July 9, 2016 at 12noon at Infant Jesus of Prague Catholic Church, 700 Maple Ave., Harvey, LA. Visitation will be held at Mothe Funeral Home, 7040 Lapalco Blvd., Marrero, La on Saturday morning from 8:30am until 11:30am. Interment, Gate of Heaven Mausoleum, Westwego, LA. Special thanks to Allison and Barry Griffen and Danny Lirette for their constant care and devotion and to the staff of Trinity Neurologic and Rehabilitation Center.
