Leon Anthony Frickey Jr.

Leon Anthony Frickey Jr. went to be with the Lord on June 7, 2015 after suffering a major stroke, surrounded by his loving family and close friends. Leon was known to most as just "Frickey". Leon was 73 years old and was born in Westwego, LA to the late Leon Frickey, Sr. and Edith Adams Babineaux. Leon's first marriage was to the late Mary Aupied Frickey and they had 3 wonderful children through that union. He was the father of Robert, Lance (Debbie) and the late Mona Frickey Zar (Kelly). Leon's second marriage of 28 years, was to Christine Sampey Frickey, who was his true soul mate. Their amazing love got them through any trials that came their way. Their love was a wonderful thing to witness. Christine was truly the love of Frickey's life. Their children, Nicole Frickey Forbes (Jess) and Katie Frickey Avery (Josh) brought tremendous love and peace throughout their lives. He was the brother of Vera DeJesus, Betty Gomez, Jules Frickey and the late Edward Frickey. Leon adored his grandchildren, Brett Zar, Heather Frickey, Brooke Rome, Madison Avery, Carlynn Avery, Addison Dixon, and Lainey Forbes. Frickey was a barber by trade for the last 56 years. he began with his first shop in Bridge City, LA. He later moved his business to Westwego on 4th Street where "Frickey's" is still open. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Funeral Service in the chapel of Mothe Funeral Home, 7040 Lapalco Blvd., Marrero, LA on Saturday, July 11, 2015 at 1pm.
