Leonard Broadbent Edmundson

Leonard Broadbent Edmundson passed away on Wednesday, September 6, 2023 in New Orleans, Louisiana at the age of 78. He was born on August 12, 1945 in Pensacola, Florida, but lived hisentire life in Jefferson Parish, Louisiana. He is survived by his beloved wife of 54 years, Bennette Caves Edmundson; his son, Eric L. Edmundson; a granddaughter, Lauren Westfaul;   Siblings: Benjamin J. Edmundson, Barbara E. McManus (Mrs. Clarence E.), Isabella V. Edmundson, and Richard L. Edmundson (Lollita F.); Nephew:  Bryan S. McManus;  Nieces:  Elizabeth M. Bailey, Gabrielle Edmundson and Sophia Edmundson.  He is predeceased by his parents Benjamin Rufus Edmundson and Isabelle“Virginia” Kelbaugh Edmundson,  and his brother-in-law, Judge Clarence E. McManus. Leonard was a graduate of the University of Southern Mississippi.  He taught high school for a couple years before joining the U. S. Air Force. He was awarded a Commendation for Exceptional Service from The Non Commissioned Officers Association of the United States.  He was honorably discharged with the rank of Staff Sergeant.  After military service, he worked in and retired from a career in Retail Sales. Leonard was a very caring, loving, and generous person.  He will be sadly missed by his family. Burial service will be on Wednesday, September 27, 2023 at 10:00 A.M. at the Southeast Louisiana Veterans Cemetery, 34888 Grantham College Drive, Slidell, Louisiana.
