Leonce Pierre Waguespack, Jr. passed away peacefully on January 5, 2025. He was born on November 30, 1940 in Raceland, LA. Beloved husband of Linda LeBlanc Waguespack, for 62 years. Loving father of Leonce Anthony Waguespack (Traci), Lisa Waguespack Coudrain, and the late Keith Andrew Waguespack. Loving grandfather of Misti, Jared, Austin, Amber, McKenna, Claire, Rachel, Samuel, and Gabriel. Loving great-grandfather to Raelynne, Teagan, Elisha, and Beau. Brother of Debbie Johnson (Mark), the late Patrick Waguespack (Pam), and the late Catherine Cook (Johnny). Son of the late Leonce P. Waguespack, Sr. and the late Mabel Ledet Waguespack.
He was a hard-working and dedicated man. He worked at NOPSI (later bought out by Entergy) in 1964 working as a Civil Engineer for many years, where he was known for his dedication, integrity and leadership. Despite his many responsibilities, he always made time for his family and his passions.
Though he may not have liked being the center of attention, he deserves to have his long years of fatherly love honored. He was a man of kindness and generosity who had a love for our Savior Jesus Christ, and who left a lasting impact on everyone who knew him.
His hobbies and interests helped define who he was. He enjoyed being a member of the Knights of Columbus where he was a Grand Knight and later on a Financial Secretary for many years, often spending his weekends volunteering at his church. In 1978 he was the president of the American Society of Civil Engineers New Orleans Branch. His love for photography, LSU sports, and computers was something he shared with his children, leaving a mark that will never fade.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, January 11, 2025 at 12:00 PM at St. John Paul II Catholic Church, 6851 River Road, Waggaman. Visitation will be from 9:30 AM until the mass starts. Repass will follow at the church hall immediately after the burial.
The family finds comfort in knowing that his legacy lives on through the lessons he taught them, the love he shared, and the memories they will forever cherish.
