Leslie E. “The Beast” Bourgeois passed away on November 26, 2013 at the age of 86 years. Son of the late Wilson and Noelie Marie Becnel Bourgeois. Leslie was born on November 28, 1926 in New Orleans at the Touro Infirmary. Beloved husband of the late Blanche Pere Bourgeois. Father of Randy Bourgeois (wife Susan), Carla B. Smith (husband Clifford), Todd Bourgeois (former wife Colleen), Amy B. Simon (husband Gary) and Hollis B. Baul (husband Eric). Grandfather of Brandon, Tara, Trey, Lauren, Eric Jr., Jared, Wesley, Garrett, Elizabeth and Emily. Brother of Rene Bourgeois, the late Mildred B. Santiny, Wilson “Billy” Bourgeois, Jr. and baby Blaize Bourgeois.
Leslie served his country in the U.S. Army during World War II as a member of the Occupation Forces of Japan, 25th Division “Tropic Lighting” in the Asiatic-Pacific Theater of Operations. He later retired from Avondale Shipyards after over 39 years of service. He was a member of Our Lady of Prompt Succor Catholic Church and the 12-Mile Hunting Club.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the visitation at MOTHE FUNERAL HOME, 7040 Lapalco Blvd., Marrero, LA on Friday from 10 AM to 1 PM. A Funeral Mass will follow at Our Lady of Prompt Succor Catholic Church in Westwego for 1:30 PM. Interment Gate of Heaven Mausoleum.
