Lester Paul Ford died on November 1, 2012, of complications from COPD, with his loving wife, Anna, by his side. He is survived not only by his wife, Anna Arabie Ford, but by his daughter Paula Hardy Lee, and son-in-law, Gary Lee. He is also survived by his 9-year-old grandson, Cullen Lee, who will miss his "Bay" very much, and his step-granddaughter, Marigny Lee, who lives in Montreal, Canada. Lester was born in Washington, D.C., on August 2, 1935. He lived in Gretna, Louisiana for most of his life. His mother, Mildred S. Arabie, and his step-father, Walter Arabie, predeceased him. He is also survived by his sister, Ann Ford Badeaux, who was with him during his last days. His devoted step-brother, Sidney Arabie, kindly looked out for him in his later years. He is also survived by his niece and nephews. Lester loved enjoying the outdoors with his wife, Anna. Over the years, they enjoyed camping, hunting, fishing, and traveling together. He will be missed by his family. Lester and Anna were both retired from Asplundh Tree Company, where they worked together for many years. Family and friends are invited to a Memorial Service celebrating Lester's life at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 600 Sixth Street, Gretna, Louisiana, on Saturday, November 10, 2012. Visitation at the Church will begin at 10 AM and a Funeral Mass will follow beginning at 11AM. Interment will be private.
