Lester Carter Wailes

Lester Carter Wailes passed away on Sunday, July 6, 2014 at the Louisiana Veteran Home, Jackson, LA. He was 82 years of age and a resident of Harvey, LA. Lester was the son of the late Howard Carter Wailes and Ella Louise Crandell Wailes of Bastrop, LA. He is survived by his wife of 29 years, Beverly Gilchress Wailes. He was the brother of Gene Wailes (Sylvia), Bill Wailes (Mitsie), and the late Kenneth Wailes. He is also survived by his daughter, Rhonda Wailes Plucienski (Robert), a grandson, Robert Derek Plucienski, a step daughter, Deborah Sunseri Rosser (Jimmie), and a step son, Philip S. Sunseri, Jr. (Stacey). He was the grandpa of Rachael Lynn Sunseri and Adam Christopher Rosser, and the brother in law of James P. Gilchress, Jr. Lester had 5 nieces and 2 nephews. Lester served in the United States Navy for 4 years. After his discharge, he was employed by the U.S. Border Patrol and the U.S. Immigration & Naturalization Service. He was very proud to have protected the borders of the United States of America. After 29 years of service, he retired as a Criminal Investigator for the U.S. Immigration & Naturalization Service. Lester was an avid golfer and a member of the Plantation Country Club, where he met his wife, Beverly, in Gretna, LA. Lester, also, had a passion for woodworking up until his illness. He was a Free Mason and a member of the Belle Chasse Lodge No. 469, F. & A. M. Lester will be sadly missed by his family and friends. A memorial visitation will be held at Mothe Funeral Home, 7040 Lapalco Blvd., Marrero, LA, on Saturday, August 16, 2014 from 11 AM to 1 PM. Memorial Services will follow in the funeral home chapel.
