Lewis Ross Centanni, Sr., age 92, a Gretna resident died on Friday, January 4, 2013, at 1:00 a.m. Beloved husband of 65 years to Elaine Lapeyronnie Centanni. Loving father of Mary Louise Centanni Melancon and husband, Edward, and Lewis Ross Centanni, Jr., and wife, Peggy. Grandfather of Paul Centanni and wife, Gayle, Jennifer Melancon Vicknair and husband, Christopher, Michelle Centanni Combs and husband Christopher, and Stephen Melancon. Great-grandfather of Kristen Vicknair, Kaylee Combs, Jackson Vicknair, Elizabeth Centanni, Lyla Combs, Sofia Centanni, Matthew Combs, William Combs, and Katherine Centanni. Also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Son of the late Salvator Centanni and Josephine Taulli Centanni. Brother of the late Lena Centanni Peperone, Marie Centanni Phelan, Felice Centanni Peperone, Conchetta Centanni Peperone, Josephine Centanni Peperone, Ross Centanni, and Sam Centanni. He was a parishioner of St. Rosalie Church. Lew served in the U.S. Navy during World War II, and was a retired employee of Boh Bros. Construction Company. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend a Funeral Mass to be celebrated on Wednesday, January 9, 2013, at 11:00 a.m. at Mothe Funeral Home, 2100 Westbank Expressway, Harvey, LA. Interment will follow services in Westlawn Cemetery, Gretna, LA.
