Linah Hebert Himel Naquin, age 94, died July 1, 2011 at West Jefferson Medical Center in Marrero, LA, after a lengthy illness. Linah was born October 12, 1916 in Assumption Parish . Daughter of the late Rene Hebert and Bernadette Aucoin Hebert. Beloved wife of the late Clarence F. Himel and by second marriage, the late Nolan Naquin. Beloved mother of Elizabeth “Betty” Oswald (deceased) (Sam) of Marrero, LA, Robert “Bob” Himel (Gilda) of Folsom, LA, Garland P. Himel (Shirley) of Marrero, LA and Anita Mancuso (Joseph, Jr., deceased) of Randolph, New Jersey. Loving Grandma to Gaare, Cary, Beth and Mark Oswald, Allison, Troy and Patrick Himel, Maria, Sandra, David and Keith Himel, Joseph, Anthony “Tony”, Peter, Tom and the late Joan Mancuso. Also survived by children of second marriage to the late Nolan Naquin, Louise Chauvin, Barbara Constant, Dianne Williams and Lloyd Naquin of Labadieville, LA. Loving Grandchildren from her marriage to Nolan includes Brian Chauvin, Ruth, Randall and Anissa Constant, Glen and Joel Williams, Nolan and Jessica Naquin . Loving Sister of Clanton Hebert (Doris,deceased), Laura Daigle (Noisen, deceased), of Napoleonville, LA, Lucy Naquin (Earl, deceased) of Marrero, LA, Lillie Melancon (Lawrence) of Thibodaux, LA, and the late Claude (Maude) and Clarence(Betty) Hebert. Also survived by numerous loving great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. Linah was born in Labadieville, LA, married Clarence Himel, moved to Gretna, LA and later to Marrero, LA. She worked in Retail Sales for a number of years. Her love of children led her into caring for many foster children. After Clarence Himel’s death, she remarried to Nolan Naquin. When Nolan died, she moved into Wynhoven Apartments and after she became disabled, into Wynhoven Healthcare where she lived from 2002 until her death. Linah was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and a caring friend to many. Many thanks to the loving care she received from all the personnel at Wynhoven Healthcare and West Jefferson Medical Center. Relatives and friends of the family, Specialty Italian Bistro and Himel’s Auto Repair Inc., of Gretna, LA are invited to attend the visitation at MOTHE FUNERAL HOME, 2100 Westbank Expressway, Harvey, LA on Wednesday, July 6, 2011 from 9AM until 11AM. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at the funeral home on Wednesday at 11AM. Interment will be in Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery, Gretna, LA. Information: 504-366-4343.
