 Linda Mathis Orgeron (September 3, 1954 – October 9, 2024)

 Linda Mathis Orgeron, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully on October 9, 2024, after a courageous battle with cancer and respiratory failure. Born and raised in Gretna, Louisiana, Linda’s life was filled with love, kindness, and a dedication to her family and friends.

Later in life, she moved to Garland, Texas, to be closer to her daughter and treasured grandchildren, who brought her endless joy and pride. Linda is survived by her devoted husband, Robert John Orgeron; her cherished daughter, Brandi Orgeron McElhaney; and her two beloved grandchildren, Madison and Gavin. She was preceded in death by her parents, Genevieve (Jenny) and William Woodrow Mathis, her brothers Johnny and Wayne Mathis Sr. and her first husband, Frankie Verdin.

 Linda’s love for her two canine children, Nola and Coco, was a testament to her gentle, nurturing spirit. Known for her resilience and her caring nature, she offered unwavering support to those around her and had a remarkable ability to make others feel loved and valued.

Family and friends are invited to attend the Visitation at MOTHE FUNERAL HOME, 7040 Lapalco Blvd., Marrero, Louisiana on Friday, October 18, 2024 from 6PM until 9PM. Visitation will resume at the funeral home on Saturday, October 19, 2024 from 8AM until 11AM. A Funeral Mass will be held at the funeral home on Saturday at 11AM. Interment will be at Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery, 1225 Whitney Avenue, Gretna, Louisiana.
