Lionel “Buddy” Anthony Kass Jr.

Entered into eternal rest on Saturday, March 30^th, 2024, at the age of 80.  Beloved husband of Carolyn Pierce Kass for 55 years.  Father of Kelley Elizabeth Kass Toups (husband, Keith), Tracy Ann Kass Bruce (husband, Ross), and Jody Anthony Kass (wife, Jennifer).    He was born to the late Josephine Taullie Kass and Lionel A. Kass Sr.  Brother of Marie Kass Cannon, the late Mary Lena Kass, Joseph Anthony Kass, and Barbara Kass Cook.  Grandfather of Dustin Lewis Hebert, Sydnie Rae Kass, Seth Preston Hebert, Alyssa Nicole Bruce, and Jace Anthony Kass.  He was a lifelong resident of Gretna, LA and a retired HVAC Engineer from the Ogden Museum of Southern Art.  Buddy honorably served in the U.S. Marine Corps with the rank of Corporal and was a member of the American Legion.  He was known as a jack of all trades and mentor for family & friends.  Buddy loved staying home working around the house and making sure it was safe. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Visitation at Mothe Funeral Home, 2100 West Bank Expressway, Harvey La. Harvey, LA on Thursday, April 4, 2024 from 6pm until 10pm. Visitation will continue on Friday, April 5, 2024 at St. Anthony Catholic Church, Gretna, LA from 10am until 12pm Mass will follow at 12pm.  Interment, McDonoghville Cemetery in Gretna, La.  A special thanks to Concerned Care Home Health & Hospice for their loving care.  In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital.   Family and friends may view and sign the online guest book at www.mothefunerals.com.
