Lloyd Ernest Chiasson

Lloyd Ernest Chiasson, a lifelong resident of Gretna, LA, passed away peacefully on July 31, 2023 at the age of 96. 

He was a graduate of Tulane University, Class of 1954, with his degree in Electrical Engineering and was a registered engineer with the State of Louisiana. He served his country in the U.S. Air Force in both World War II and the Korean War and later was a member of the Louisiana Air National Guard, 122nd Air Squadron. He was a member of Timberlane Golf Country Club for 50 years.

He spent his entire professional career in the electric utility industry.

Beloved husband of the late Helen Wilty Chiasson for 63 years. Loving father of Lloyd E. Chiasson Jr. and the late Susanne Kay Chiasson. Father-in-law of Shannon Curley Chiasson and grandfather of Marnie Elizabeth Chiasson and Cassidy Loehn Chiasson. Brother of the late Robert Chiasson. Son of the late Gaston P. Chiasson and Annette Blanchard Chiasson. Survived by many nieces and nephews. 

Family and friends are invited to gather at Salem Lutheran Church, 418 4th Street, Gretna, LA on Saturday, August 12, 2023 from 9am to 10am. Memorial Services will follow.

A graveside service will immediately follow at Hook and Ladder Cemetery, 1000 Lafayette Street (between 6th and 7th Streets) in Gretna.
