Rev. Lloyd L. Reimherr, Sr.

Reverend Lloyd L. Reimherr, Sr. went to be with his Lord on January 13, 2014 at the age of 83 years. He was born in New Orleans, LA to the late Daniel and Helen Lotz Reimherr. He was married to Barbara Ann Beck Reimherr for over 40 years. Father of Lloyd L. Reimherr, Jr., Kevin C. Reimherr (wife Gloria) and Karen Reimherr Cabrera (husband Jorge). Grandfather of Matthew (wife Nichole), Andrew and Nicholas, whose mother is Kelly Hutchinson Reimherr and one great-grandson, Ryan. Brother-in-law of Anton C. Beck, Jr.
Lloyd served his country in the U.S. Army from 1951 to 1953 during the Korean War. He earned his Bachelor’s degree from Elmhurst College in 1957 and graduated from Eden Theological Seminary in 1961 and became an ordained minister later that same year.
Reverend Reimherr first served as Pastor of Friedens United Church of Christ in Beasley, TX. He served as Pastor of St. Mark United Church of Christ in Gretna, LA for over 33 years. While Pastor of St. Mark, he served as Secretary and later President of the New Orleans Association of United Church of Christ. He was a board member of the American Red Cross and worked closely with the New Orleans Food Bank. Reverend Reimherr retired in 1998, but his work and legacy continues to this day in the hearts and minds of the faithful. He will be sadly missed.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Services in the Chapel of MOTHE FUNERAL HOME, 2100 Westbank Expy., Harvey, LA on Monday, January 20, 2014 at 11 AM conducted by the Rev. Paul Pic. Interment Westlawn Memorial Park. Visitation will be held on Sunday from 5 PM to 9 PM, resuming on Monday from 8 AM to 11 AM.
