Lois Guidry LaBruzza

Lois G LaBruzza passed away peacefully at her home after a long battle with dementia at the age of 91.

 She was a longtime resident of Gretna, Louisiana, but recently moved to Marrero to live with her son and daughter-in-law.

Wife of the late Luke LaBruzza Sr. for 50 years. Mother of Luke LaBruzza, Jr.(Angie). Daughter of the late Alvin and Anastasia Guidry Sr. Grandmother to the late granddaughter Leslie Wallace (Jimmy), grandson of Sal LaBruzza, Brad LaBruzza (Autumn), Luke LaBruzza III and step grandmother of Brittany Adams (Shaun) and step grandmother of Christian Fortino. Great grandmother of Vincent Gai, Alexzander Adams and Finnegan LaBruzza. She attended and graduated from Holy Name of Mary High School, Algiers. Lois LaBruzza was a bookkeeper for Don Bohn Ford in the late 50s till early 70s until she became a house wife. Her and husband traveled a lot in the motorhome with many friends until the death of her husband. She was the sister of the late Alvin Guidry Jr., Mary Ann Brenan, Anna Clair Caminita (Frank). Lois LaBruzza was a big fan of LSU football and Baseball fan and also The New Orleans Saints. She also was a huge supporter of Saint Jude Hospital. She was a big part of Saint Joseph Church. She would help count the collection on Mondays. 

Lois will be missed by many nieces and nephews and many friends. We would like to thank the staff of Serenity Hospice for the love and great care they all showed Lois. 

May she rest in Jesus’ arms.

Visitation will be held at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 610 Sixth Street in Gretna on Tuesday, August 27, 2024 from 9am to 12noon. A Funeral Mass will follow. Interment Westlawn Memorial Park in Gretna.
